Se encuentra en la iglesia de Santo Domingo, sobre Avenida Belgrano al 300, en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, a metros de la casa natal del prócer, y surgió por iniciativa de estudiantes del Colegio Nacional Bernardino Rivadavia junto con los de la Escuela Nacional de Comercio y con el apoyo del gobierno nacional a fines del siglo XIX.
It is located in the church of Santo Domingo, on Belgrano Avenue at 300, in the City of Buenos Aires, a few meters from the birthplace of the hero, and arose on the initiative of students of the National School Bernardino Rivadavia together with those of the National School of Commerce and with the support of the national government in the late nineteenth century.

Fue inaugurado el 20 de junio de 1903. Mide casi 9 metros, lo mismo que un edificio de 3 pisos aproximadamente.
It was inaugurated on June 20, 1903. It measures almost 9 meters, the same as a 3-story building approximately.

El monumento fue realizado por el artista italiano Ettore Ximenes en 1903.

Mide 9 metros de altura y tiene una base hecha de Baveno granito, su base de mármol de Carrara hay dos estatuas de bronce que representan, “El Pensamiento” (un hombre sentado en actitud pensante, comprometido con la realización intelectual) y la otra, la “Acción” (un hombre sentado con un libro y una espada, simbolizando las distintas actividades que realizó el Prócer durante su vida: abogado, economista, militar, periodista, etc).
It is 9 meters high and has a base made of Baveno granite, its base of Carrara marble there are two bronze statues that represent, "The Thought" (a man sitting in a thinking attitude, committed to the intellectual realization) and the other, the "Action" (a man sitting with a book and a sword, symbolizing the different activities that the Prócer performed during his life: lawyer, economist, military, journalist, etc.).

Dos bajorrelieves de bronce representan dos escenas decisivas para la historia argentina. Uno al frente, evoca la creación de la Bandera y debajo del mismo esta cincelado el apellido  BELGRANO.
Two bronze bas-reliefs represent two decisive scenes in Argentine history. One at the front, evokes the creation of the Flag and under it is chiseled the surname BELGRANO.

El otro, en la parte posterior, recuerda a las dos grandes victorias de las batallas de Tucumán y Salta.
The other, at the back, recalls the two great victories of the battles of Tucumán and Salta.

Debajo de estos bajorrelieves hay guardas de laureles como ofrenda eterna de gloria y honor.
Under these bas-reliefs there are guards of laurels as an eternal offering of glory and honor.

Hay cuatro estatuas de ángeles que sostienen el sarcófago, son figuras femeninas, de pie, y expresan distintas simbologías.
There are four statues of angels that support the sarcophagus, they are feminine figures, standing, and they express different symbologies.

Una tiene una hoja de palma hacia abajo que significa la victoria asumida con humildad; otra que tiene la cinta con la leyenda en latín “Studis rovehendis” (Proveedor de Estudios) representa la donación que hiciera Belgrano para la construcción de cuatro escuelas.
One has a palm leaf facing downwards, which signifies the victory assumed with humility; another one with a ribbon with the Latin legend "Studis rovehendis" (Provider of Studies) represents the donation made by Belgrano for the construction of four schools.

La tercera sostiene una espada y representa a Belgrano en su aspecto militar y la última que sostiene un engranaje, representa su trabajo y estudios en el aspecto de la economía y el comercio ya que Belgrano fue Secretario del Real Consulado.
The third one holds a sword and represents Belgrano in his military aspect and the last one that holds a gear, represents his work and studies in the aspect of economy and commerce since Belgrano was Secretary of the Royal Consulate.

En la parte superior, sobre el sarcófago, un yelmo (casco de caballero antiguo) con un águila que representa el genio, la nobleza y el heroísmo.
In the upper part, on the sarcophagus, a helmet (ancient knight's helmet) with an eagle that represents the genius, the nobility and the heroism.

El águila además es el ave que lleva a las almas heroicas a la eternidad.  Todo ello rodeado de flores hierro.
The eagle is also the bird that carries the heroic souls to eternity.  All surrounded by iron flowers.  

El mausoleo se declara Monumento Histórico Nacional en 1946 por el Decreto Nº 3039.
The mausoleum was declared a National Historic Monument in 1946 by Decree No. 3039.
